ugh, horror movie dreams are difficult to wake up to.

i woke up in the middle of this dream in which my family (not my real family; more of a cleaver-type pair of figures) was in the middle of preparing for a wedding, but we were somewhat outclassed by the young man's fiancee and unsure of what to wear. (gee, this doesn't sound like vague fears brought to life AT ALL...) so one day, mother was cleaning the house, and i am not entirely sure how this all came about, but we were warned with some vague ominousness about...something i don't recall...and then someone died a pretty sudden and gruesome death, which i also forget. but it continued. there were a few items mother had found while cleaning the house that hadn't belonged to us previously--pretty innocuous objects, like a keychain and a little box of red vines, but she thought it pertinent to mention to me that they weren't ours as she lay down on the floor in a sunbathing position of sorts.

her foot was resting on the box of red vines. all of a sudden, she screamed out in terror and pain, lifting her foot to reveal that the box of red vines had eaten away and looked like the rotted remains of dirt, red vine pieces scattered about like worms. then the ground underneath her caved in and revealed something like a large toilet bowl with a pretty big hole at the center, and the blood-filled water rose up and flushed her away.

after this, i asked the bride-to-be to help me pick out clothes, and she suggested lavender-pink something, which i laughed and said i didn't have, and she started rifling through my closet. i went to the bed and threw away the other items of unknown origin and was so afraid of how this...thing would next manifest itself.

after that, i'm not sure i want to have red vines in my carry-on bag today.

my mom is heading up this morning to go to the cemetery up north where my father's parents are buried. i think she is bringing his urn to be kept there, but she may just be talking to them about it. then she is coming down here, i'm gonna cook her lunch, and she is going to take me to the airport. i still need to clean my apartment and pack.

lately has been pretty good. josie is back in town, i have been hanging out with chris an obscene amount (or maybe we're just obscene; i think that's kinkier, rawr) and watching a crapton of movies. i am now off to california to see my sister, my friends, and a show i've been looking forward to enough to buy advance tickets, yay!

ew. my breath tastes like what shit often smells like. i really should do something about that.

like not eat bad-for-me foods so much.

i have been so bad lately. i've had a lot of oreos and chocolate and ice cream and nachos and pizza and cheese... not nearly enough vegetables. all this must add up to some pretty funky shift in gastrointestinal chemistry and ultimately the way my body functions.

i'll tell you what, though, i sure did sleep better last night than i did the night before.

today i must return the mr. show dvds to scarecrow. i think that's the only "must do" thing on my agenda. i might also watch killing zoe or the graduate, hang out with people like chris and josie, create some sort of tasty but healthy dinner to share with my dear friends, watch whatever movies josie brings over because she has a massive video collection lying in waste in her closet until jana returns (um...tonight, actually) and can give her back her tv/vcr.

sunday night was an orgy of gluttony, admittedly, and i don't think i could do that again for awhile. chris came over and we rented a crapload of movies and ordered pizza and bought stuff to make orgasmoshakes. real ones, not my delicious-but-pussy fat free ones. we watched the doom generation, both of us having seen the initial series of scenes (which includes one of a korean man's decapitated head flying across a convenience store and barfing up something greenish and chunky, yum!) and being curious for the rest. in the middle of the movie, chris suggested we order the pizza so it would arrive when the movie was done. i said i didn't think i could eat while watching this movie. he agreed, and we let the movie finish. the final violent scene is so fucked up and unpleasant to watch that chris totally lost his appetite, but i ordered a pizza anyway. mm, chicken with mushrooms and onions. we watched some mr. show episodes to cleanse our palates and discovered we didn't have quite enough cash between us to cover the cost of the delivery plus a decent tip, so chris ran up to the ave to an atm, but returned too late, and the deliveryperson was satisfied with a ~$1 tip. eep. (side joke to anyone who's seen the aforementioned unpleasant film: our total was $16.66!!!! hehehaha, kinda.)

we commenced eating pizza, watching more mr. show, then heavenly creatures, which is quite possibly my favorite peter jackson movie, actually. i think i'm just a girl that way, but it's a damn good film. the end of the film continued to disturb chris, but we made orgasmoshakes anyway, which consisted of: oreos, chocolate syrup, instant coffee granules, french vanilla ice cream, and a little milk. good fucking lord. that was a bit much. instant coffee granules may make asscoffee, but they are damned handy for other things.

yesterday i didn't leave the house at all. i watched rear window and napped, i watched mr. show and napped. later christine, graylan, and josie came over to indulge in my fancypants futon (living room furniture! oh my gosh!) and eat nachos they brought over. mmm... nachos. graylan had to leave early to get to fremont for anna's 22nd birthday party, which was at a bar, so us silly underagers couldn't even celebrate with her. aww.

anyway, so... i should now get on with today. which should involve at least one trip out of the house. hurrah.

Sunday, September 8

so i've been busy and neglected the blog. many apologies, etc. i'm sure you're all so disappointed in me. all 12 of you.

tuesday night, there was a harem quesadilla night in my apartment. lindsay even stopped by unexpectedly. it was quite fun. afterwards, graylan, chris, and i went to the continental and had baklava. mm.

chris stayed over and in the morning we watched battle royale (scarecrow has the region-free dvd; the movie is fucked up) and left for olympia. when we got there, my mom and paul were still up north, and later we met them at apollo's for dinner. yum. then we got to work on the computer.

valentino, the supposedly-nicest machine that was mostly-free from intel when they instituted a program that gave all their employees home computers, decided to have boot partition errors after i left the week before, and we are not entirely certain why, but suspect it has something to do with whatever crap margot had downloaded off kazaa. however, data on the hard drive was evidently salvageable, since we put it in paul's machine temporarily and burned a cd of necessities and then bought a new hard drive and did a fresh install of everything on it. the problem, i think, is more or less solved at this point. go chris. there is the possibility the motherboard is fucked, too, but that isn't quite rearing its ugly head sufficiently.

thursday we ended up doing not much. we thought we might spend the day in portland, but that didn't happen. we got some bagel brothers and installed things on valentino that mom wanted. i think part of the evening was spent enjoying a thunderstorm in the garage shooting pool and eating delicious seafood dinner, then we went for a long, rambling drive for no reason and bought delicious ice cream.

friday was, again, not much ado. i took chris to burrito heaven. he got the jalapeno garlic hot sauce on his, which is INSANE, but he said it cleared his sinuses and was yummy. later, we met casey, whom i haven't hung out with in for-freaking-ever, at hollywood video and spent a long time picking out movies to watch. we ended up with zero effect (good) and our lady of the assassins (put me to sleep and was not really that good at all) and made spaghetti. yay.

saturday we got up and packed and ate bagels mom bought from bagel brothers (yum!) and got the futon in the van and got stuck in traffic on the way to seattle, but ultimately mom made it home for paul's olympia symphony audition and my living room has furniture. yay!

i had a good yesterday afternoon. hee.

later i met christine and jesse, and christine and i had chicken gyros from the gyrocery. mm. then i spent the walk up to the paradox theater giggling at them for being so damn cute. we waited in line for webley for a loooong time. eventually, josie and her dad and their friend dave joined us, then two of christine's friends from choir. the show was very disorganized, but had its moments of coolness. there were crazy puppets and jason talked a bit about the incident at bumbershoot. he showed us his new accordion. the theater was very warm. a brit named scout opened for him, and she played guitar and sang like chan marshall, and then she played the drums and sang. that was odd, but kind of cool. she was cute; she took pictures of the audience afterwards, because she said it was the largest crowd she's ever played for. aw.

today i am to head northeast to meet christine and see josie's new place and hang out with josie. funfun, as long as i don't put the 'unf' back in funfun, because we were once roommates, and that would be, y'know, awkward.
